Meet SHAZAM! in Fun New Featurette, Post-Credit Scene Confirmed, and Info on if Superman or Black Adam Will Appear

Warner Bros. has released a brand new featurette for Shazam! that offers a breakdown of details on the DC superhero and who he is along with some of the other characters in the movie. The featurette includes interviews with the cast including Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, and Jack Dylan Grazer. Oh yeah, it also shows off some cool new footage!

You can watch the featurette below, and below that, you will find some additional details on the film. Those details confirm a post-credits scene for the film, and the producer also talks about if we will see Superman and/or Black Adam in the film.

I also included a new TV spot for the film at the very bottom of the post in which Superman’s name is dropped.

SHAZAM! - Only in theaters April 5 ----- http://ShazamMovie.com https://www.facebook.com/ShazamMovie/ https://twitter.com/ShazamMovie/ https://www.instagram.com/ShazamMovie/ ---- David F. Sandberg ("Annabelle: Creation") directs New Line Cinema's "Shazam!," the origin story that stars Zachary Levi (TV's "Chuck") as the titular DC Super Hero, along with Asher Angel (TV's "Andi Mack") as Billy Batson, and Mark Strong (the "Kingsman" movies) in the role of Super-Villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

There was recently a rumor that Superman might be showing up at the end of the film, but that hasn’t been confirmed by the studio. In fact, When asked about the possible appearance of Superman, producer Peter Safran was very coy with his answer:

"We have fun with all the things around it, but first and foremost it’s Shazam’s story. The producer later said that there was never any attempt from Warner Bros. -- which has infamously see-sawed on establishing a DC shared cinematic universe to simply taking things one movie at a time -- "to try and shoehorn it into any sort of existing storylines or universe, etc."

However, he did go on to confirm that there will be a post-credits scene that the fans will appreciate:

"I think it’s probably the same decision-making that one has on all these movies, which is, what’s going to be fun, what’s going to be satisfying for the audience, what’s going to be a nice punctuation mark at the end of the movie that, again, is going to be satisfying for the audience. So that’s the debate you always have. We had a lot of options. I think we ended up with something good."

That could include Superman, but it definitely won’t include Black Adam. The classic Shazam! villain will not appear in the film or the post-credits scene. When asked about it, the producer said:

"No, there was never a conversation with him about a post-credits sequence. Truly, never."

Of course, Black Adam could face off with Shazam! at some point down the line:

"He’s a perfect adversary so one would hope that eventually you’d see those two onscreen together at some point but it’s not going to be in this one."

Shazam! was directed by Annabelle's David F. Sandberg it will be released on April 5th, 2019.
