Michael Bay Looking to Direct Patrick Stewart and Dam Claflin in Netflix's BARBARIC

Netflix is developing a series adaption of the Vault comic Barbaric with Patrick Stewart (Star Trek, X-Men) and Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & the Six, Peaky Blinders) set to star. On top of that, Michael Bay is in talks to direct the project.

Barbaric is described as “Deadpool meets Game of Thrones for the way it mashes gonzo violence and humor.”

The story is set in a Medieval fantasy world, and it chronicles the journey of Owen (Claflin) – a barbarian cursed to do the right thing – and his talking (and horny) axe (voiced by Stewart) as they unite to take on a great evil.

Ok, I haven’t read this comic, but that sounds like a lot of fun! The comic comes from writer Michael Moreci and artist Nathan Gooden.

The official description for the comic reads: “Owen the Barbarian has been cursed to do good with what remains of his life. His bloodthirsty weapon, Axe, has become his moral compass with a drinking problem.

“Together they wander the realm, foredoomed to help any who seek assistance. But there is one thing Owen hates more than a life with rules: Witches.

“Welcome to the skull-cracking, blood-splattering, mayhem-loving comic brave enough to ask: How can a man sworn to do good do so much violence? Hah! F***ing with you. It’s just…BARBARIC.”

This sounds like a great project with everyone involved, and I can see Bay do some crazy and wild stuff with it.
