Michelle Pfeiffer Officially Set For YELLOWSTONE Spinoff Series MADISON
Michelle Pfeiffer is officially set to star in and executive produce Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming Yellowstone spinoff series, Madison.
She has been in talks to join the series along with Patrick J. Adams and Kurt Russell, who have yet to be officially confirmed.
The story for this series will be set after the events of the Yellowstone flagship series which ends with Season 5.
The series is said to “follow wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s tragic deaths in a plane crash.”
The series is also described as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios shared in a statement:
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace. She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”
The ensemble cast is still being finalized, but other CST members may also include Beau Garrett (The Good Doctor, Firefly Lane). Matthew McConaughey was originally eyed for the series along with original cast members Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Luke Grimes reprising their roles of Beth Dutton, Rip Wheeler and Kayce Dutton.
We don’t know if Russell will be taking on the role that McConaughey was originally supposed to play or taking on a new character entirely. We also don’t know if any of the other actors from Yellowstone will be involved.
The spinoff is scheduled to begin production later this month in Montana, New York and Texas. It’s expected to premiere sometime in 2025 following the conclusion of the mothership’s Season 5B, which debuts on November 10th.
