Mike Meyers Wants To Make a New AUSTIN POWERS Film Told From Dr. Evil's Point of View

I really enjoyed the Austin Powers films that Mike Meyers made. They always managed to make me laugh. There's been talk of another sequel in the past. Mike Meyers even signed up for it back in 2011, but we have yet to see any kind of movement on it. If an Austin Powers 4 film does eventually get made though, Mike Meyers knows the direction that he'd like to take it.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight, Meyers revealed that he would want the story to focus on Dr. Evil and be told from the villain's point of view.

"I would love to do a movie from Dr. Evil's perspective. So it would be Dr. Evil 1, Austin Powers 4, is how I would roll. Start the campaign, please. Thank you."

I'd be up for that! The fans love Dr. Evil so the fact that the next film could focus on that character would be great. About a year ago, director Jay Roach gave a little update on Austin Powers 4 saying:

"We have talked about [making a fourth movie] for 15 years. We have also always said we don't want to do it unless we came up with something that lived up to the concepts in our mind. Until Mike feels like he has a concept that earns a fourth, it won't happen. But if it did, we have all agreed that we would be delighted to get back into it."

Sounds to me like Meyers has a story that he'd like to tell. Maybe they will actually get back together to make it! Unfortunately, Austin Powers co-star Verne Troyer, who played Mini Me, recently passed away. It's sad that he wouldn't be able to be a part of the film if it happened. I'm sure they'd pay tribute to the actor and character though.

What do you think about Meyers' idea for a Dr. Evil film?
