Mike Myers Says That AUSTIN POWERS 4 is "Looking Good"

It sounds like there’s a chance we might actually see Austin Powers 4 get made. Mike Myers has been wanting to do a fourth Austin Powers movie for a few years now and it looks like he’s been making some headway on it.

During a recent interview with Access, Myers says that he and director Jay Roach are taking their time with making it happen but that it’s “looking good”:

"I've had three kids under the age of seven. They take a long time to write, they always have. Jay's been super crazy. He is doing a fantastic movie right now that he's working on right now. It's looking good, so we'll see."

Maybe when Roach is done with his current project the two will really dive into the project and start getting serious about development. Myers seems optimistic about it. When previously talking about the movie, Myers said that he would like to see a film based on Dr. Evil’s point of view:

"I would love to do a movie from Dr. Evil's perspective. So it would be Dr. Evil 1, Austin Powers 4, is how I would roll. Start the campaign, please. Thank you."

The fans love Dr. Evil so the fact that the next film could focus on that character would probably be successful. Director Jay Roach also previously gave an update on Austin Powers 4 saying:

"We have talked about [making a fourth movie] for 15 years. We have also always said we don't want to do it unless we came up with something that lived up to the concepts in our mind. Until Mike feels like he has a concept that earns a fourth, it won't happen. But if it did, we have all agreed that we would be delighted to get back into it."

If everything is “looking good” and Myers has an idea for the film, things should come together as once Roach is available.

Myers hasn’t really done much the past few years. He’s had a few bit roles here and there and will also appear in the upcoming film Bohemian Rhapsody. But he’s hasn’t really has had a big role in anything. He did The Gong Show recently, but that was a big bomb.

I’d like to see him back as Austin Powers and Dr. Evil! What about you?
