Miles Teller Gives Anticlimactic Update on TOP GUN 3; Shares What It Will Take to Get Him in Shape
Miles Teller has taken the last few years out of the spotlight, but he has two movies coming out this year, and several more in various stages of production.
But his most fan-anticipated project is the threequel in the Top Gun franchise. After the incredibly huge success of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, it only made sense that Paramount would want to move forward with a third film.
It’s still a ways off though, and Teller said as much during a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Colbert asked Teller if he’ll be gearing up to take flight in a fighter jet anytime soon, and Teller responded, “Look, you might be shocked, but I do not green light that thing.”
Teller pointed to the fact that he doesn’t know what the studio’s plans are. While he remains in the dark about where things stand on Top Gun 3, Teller knows there’s interest in another installment. “There’s a lot of enthusiasm on the fans’ side. There’s a lot of enthusiasm on the creative side.”
Teller said that when the film does pick up and press forward, he already has his workout schedule planned out. “I just told Tom [Cruise] … give me enough time, [and a] heads up for me to get in shape. It’s one month per ab. I need six months heads up.”
It was over a year ago that Top Gun 3 was announced, and we don’t have much in the way of news yet, but I bet we will start hearing more soon. Stay tuned for the updates.
