Milly Alcock Shares Her Wild First Day on the SUPERGIRL Set and Confirms a Kryptonian Meet Up with Superman
Milly Alcock recently opened up about her earliest days stepping into Kara Zor-El’s world for the upcoming Craig Gillespie-directed Supergirl movie, and it sounds like she was thrown straight into the deep end of the DC Universe.
Not only did her first major scene take place in freezing weather, it also put her directly opposite David Corenswet’s Superman and required her to speak Kryptonian. Fans hoping for a strong connection between the two heroes can definitely take this as a win.
During a recent press conference covered by GamesRadar+, Alcock was asked which moment on set pushed her the hardest. She said: "Oh my god, it was… It was with Superman. And I wasn't in the suit, and I was speaking… A different language. A different language."
She added that the conditions made the day even more intense. "Yeah, that day was really hard, it was, like, 2 degrees. He jumped right in the deep end. Yeah, that was a hard day. The whole scene was in Kryptonian. The whole scene was, yeah... Yeah, Kryptonian."
That Kryptonian moment implies a more substantial interaction between Kara and Kal El than the quick cameo fans saw at the end of Superman, where Alcock’s Supergirl stumbled into the Fortress of Solitude, chatted with Krypto, and slipped back out. The new film looks like it will expand on that dynamic in meaningful ways.
Supergirl is inspired by Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s acclaimed eight issue Woman of Tomorrow run. The story follows young Ruby, an alien girl seeking justice after the murder of her father. In the film adaptation, Matthias Schoenaerts takes on the role of Krem of the Yellow Hills, the villain responsible for that tragedy.
Supergirl arrives on June 26th, 2026.
