MORBIUS Will Reportedly Address The MCU's Version of Spider-Man

Some rumors have surfaced recently regarding Sony Pictures’ upcoming Marvel film Morbius and the possible inclusion of the likeness Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. ComicBook is now reporting that Spider-Man will be addressed in the film in the form of wanted posters that will be “plastered around New York City.”

If this rumor is true, and these posters do end up making the final cut of the film, this would, in a way, connect the film to the MCU in which Peter Parker/Spider-Man is a wanted individual after being set up by Mysterio. There was also a recent rumor of Tom Holland possibly appearing in Venom 2.

Are Sony and Marvel really working together to connect their two universes? I’d say it’s a long shot! I don’t think that they are because what Marvel is doing with the MCU is so well thought out and meticulous. But, who knows. Maybe they’ll surprise me. After all, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige did say:

“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

So, maybe the did work something out to where Spider-Man will slowly be worked into Sony’s Marvel universe. I have no idea, but we’ll find out! Do you think we will end up seeing a connection made?

Morbius hits theaters on July 31st. Venom 2 is expected to drop October 2nd and Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is set for release July 16, 2021.
