NBC Renews QUANTUM LEAP for Season 2

NBC has renewed its Quantum Leap reboot series for a second season. The sci-fi series continues the story of the classic 1990s series, only it doesn’t involve the original star, Scott Bakula.

The renewal comes halfway through the show’s first season, which has been getting solid reviews. I’ve only watched a couple of episodes so far, but I’ve been enjoying it! It’s a lot better than I thought it would be. I was hoping to see Bakula’s Sam Beckett, but that’s not going to happen.

The series stars Raymond Lee, and it’s“been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. In this new show, a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. The series also stars Ernie Hudson, Caitlin Bassett, Mason Alexander Park and Nanrisa Lee.

Lisa Katz, President, of Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television, and Streaming said in a statement: “We’re leaping into a second season thanks to the incredible work by our cast, producers, writers and everyone who has played a role in giving this iconic NBC series a new life. As we continue to bring audiences to our must-watch dramas, it’s gratifying to know Quantum Leap will have a prominent place next season both on our NBC schedule and next day on Peacock.”

Martin Gero serves as executive producer along with Dean Georgaris, Don Bellisario, Deborah Pratt, Chris Grismer, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt
