Netflix Greenlights a 2-Hour Series Finale For SENSE8
After Netflix canceled the Wachowski's Sense8, the team behind the series said there was no way to save the show. That doesn't mean we won't get to see the story wrapped up! Co-creator and director Lana Wachowski announced that there will be a two-hour finale episode that will bring the series to an end. Netflix also shared a video tribute for the series that you can watch below:

A Netflix spokesperson offered the following statement, "After seeing that the cancellation was a total cluster, we decided to give Sense8 fans the ending they totally deserve." The two-hour special will be released next year on the streaming service.
In the letter that Lana Wachowski shared, which you can read below, she confessed that she fell into a "fairly serious" depression after the series was canceled. She went on to say:
"The outpouring of love and grief that came in the wake of the news that Sense8 would not be continuing was so intense that I often found myself unable to open my own email... I had never worked so hard, or put so much of myself into a project as I had with Sense8 and its cancellation hollowed me out."
Well, it's awesome that Netflix is allowing her and her creative team to finish what they started! It might not be the way that they wanted, but they will get a chance to close out the story.
She continued and addressed the fans saying, "Improbably, unforeseeably, your love has brought Sense8 back to life." Then she concluded with, "Now let's go find out what happens to Wolfgang [Max Riemelt]."
Are you happy that Netflix is letting the Wachowski's close out the series with a 2-hour finale? It's pretty cool that the fans were able to help make this happen.
