Netflix Raises Its Subscription Prices; I Guess They Need to Pay for Those Two RED NOTICE Sequels
Netflix has increased its subscription prices again. It was bound to happen as they haven’t raised prices since 2020. Hey, everything else right now is more expensive, so Netflix is just jumping on the bandwagon. Or, you know, they need to pay for those next two Red Notice sequels they recently announced! That first movie cost $200 million, so I imagine the budget for the sequels is going to be massive.
So, what do the new prices look like? In the U.S., subscribers to Netflix’s basic plan, which allows for one stream on one screen at a time and does not have HD streaming, will now be charged $9.99 a month, which is a dollar more. As for the standard plans, which allow for users to stream on two screens at the same time — now cost $15.49 per month, which is an increase from $13.99, while premium plans have moved up to $19.99 a month.
The price changes will go into effect in the next coming weeks, depending on people’s billing cycle. Subscribers will receive an email and in-app notification 30 days in advance of when the new subscription prices will take effect in their accounts.
These aren’t big price increases, but I imagine the increases will keep coming over time, and at some point, they will start pricing some people out. Who knows, they may already have with some people.
