Netflix Released Haunting Character Posters For Guillermo del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN

Netflix has dropped a fresh set of character posters for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, giving fans a closer look at the tragic faces that bring this gothic masterpiece to life. The new artwork follows the release of the film’s second trailer, which shined a spotlight on Jacob Elordi’s haunting portrayal of The Creature.

These new posters showcase the main cast, including Oscar Isaac as the ambitious scientist Victor Frankenstein, Mia Goth as Elizabeth Harlander, Felix Kammerer as Victor’s brother William, and Christoph Waltz as Heinrich Harlander.

In an interview with Variety, del Toro explained what drives this adaptation on a deeper emotional level. “To me, [the message] is to reconnect emotionally to the idea of the power of forgiveness and acceptance — which is absolutely … a very scarce material right now,” he said.

“It’s not a blockbuster — a preconceived notion. It’s not a franchise. It’s something that it speaks very directly and autobiographically, unfortunately to me and many in the past.”

Del Toro’s Frankenstein is clearly a passion project decades in the making. “This film concludes a quest that started at age 7, when I saw James Whale’s Frankenstein films for the first time. I felt the jolt of recognition in that seminal moment: Gothic horror became my church, and Boris Karloff my Messiah.”

The story centers on Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant yet arrogant scientist whose obsession with conquering death leads him to create life in the form of a tortured being. The experiment spirals out of control, binding creator and creation in a tragic dance of destruction, loneliness, and yearning for acceptance.

While early reactions to Frankenstein were mixed, full reviews have leaned positive, with the film currently holding an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 96 reviews. The movie’s dark, emotional tone and rich visuals seem to have resonated with audiences who appreciate del Toro’s signature blend of horror and humanity.

Fans will also get a special treat on October 31, when del Toro screens Frankenstein in IMAX at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, followed by a Q&A. Guests are even encouraged to come dressed as their favorite del Toro characters, which sounds like the perfect Halloween night for movie lovers.

Frankenstein will hit select theaters on October 17 before its global Netflix debut on November 7.
