Netflix Was Developing a LEGEND OF ZELDA Series But Nintendo Pulled The Plug, Here's Why
Years ago it was rumored that Netflix was developing a series based on the classic Nintendo video game franchise Legend of Zelda. Well, it turns out those rumors were true! A live-action Legend of Zelda series was in the works! The confirmation comes from TV host and comedian Adam Conover.
During an interview with The Serf Times, Conover reveals that the project was being developed in 2014, at that same time Conover was working on a claymation Star Fox adaptation for College Humor. So what happened!? Why didn’t the Legend of Zelda series happen?
Nintendo ended up pulling the plug on the project because news of the series leaked out and Nintendo was not happy about that. Conover speculates that someone working at Netflix leaked the Legend of Zelda adaptation, which caused Nintendo to cancel a slate of projects, including his Star Fox claymation show.
It’s a shame that the Legend of Zelda project never happened. A lot of fans have been wanting to see this franchise brought to life and hopefully, one day, Nintendo will attempt to give it another go.
