Netflix’s Live-Action SAKAMOTO DAYS Drops New Teaser Trailer and Locks in a Release Date

The world of assassins just stepped into the spotlight. A new teaser for the live-action adaptation of Sakamoto Days has been unleashed, giving fans another taste of how this fan-favorite manga is being brought to life.

The footage is short, sharp, and packed with lethal energy, putting the focus squarely on ORDER, the elite assassin squad that sits at the top of the food chain.

The teaser came wiht the following note, “Special footage from the hitman world’s greatest force, ‘ORDER’ has been released ⚔️ Witness a number of scenes that exude overwhelming strength!”

Along with the footage came confirmation that the film will hit Japanese theaters on April 29, 2026. While Netflix is backing the project, the theatrical rollout marks the first stop for this high-profile adaptation.

Sakamoto Days stars Ren Meguro as Taro Sakamoto, the once-legendary hitman who traded his violent past for a quiet life. The teaser leans heavily into ORDER, teasing the dangerous figures who operate within the Japanese Association of Assassins and making it clear that Sakamoto’s calm days won’t stay calm for long.

New character visuals were revealed for three major ORDER members, starting with Nagumo, played by Takumi Kitamura. Known for his relaxed attitude and mastery of disguise, Nagumo is a fan favorite, and Kitamura clearly understands the weight of the role.

He shared, “Sakamoto Days is a manga I’ve read since its serialization began… Even so, they entrusted me with the role, so I gave it my absolute all. I did my very best”.

Shishiba, portrayed by Yusei Yagi, is another standout. Armed with a nail hammer and speaking in Kyoto dialect, the character balances calm precision with brutal efficiency.

Yagi’s excitement comes through loud and clear: “Shishiba speaks Kyoto dialect, uses a nail hammer… As my absolute favorite character from the original manga, I feel deeply honored to be able to live the role.”

Rounding out the trio is Osaragi, played by Meru Nukumi. At first glance she appears soft-spoken, but the teaser hints at the chaos she brings when wielding her massive electric saw.

Nukumi explained her approach, saying, “Osaragi’s charm lies in the striking contrast between her usual demeanor… and her fierce fighting style wielding a chainsaw. I gave my all to carefully portray every aspect.”

The film is written and directed by Yuichi Fukuda, whose style should mesh nicely with the manga’s mix of sharp comedy and explosive action. The supporting cast includes Fumiya Takahashi, Aya Ueto, Miyu Yoshimoto, Mayuu Yokota, Junki Tozuka, Akihisa Shiono, and Keisuke Watanabe.

The original Sakamoto Days manga, created by Yuto Suzuki, has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020 and has grown into a massive hit thanks to its blend of over-the-top action, comedy, and surprisingly heartfelt moments.

This teaser suggests the live-action version is aiming to capture that same spirit, just with real punches, real weapons, and very real consequences. I’m excited about watching this!
