Netflix’s ONE PIECE Season 2 Episode Titles Tease Epic Arcs and Big Adventures Ahead
Netflix is getting ready to set sail again with One Piece, and some intriguing new details about Season 2 have surfaced. The upcoming season is officially titled One Piece Into the Grand Line, and now the episode titles have popped up online, giving fans a sneak peek at what's in store for the next leg of Monkey D. Luffy’s high-seas adventure.
According to a new entry submitted to the Writers Guild of America database, eight new episode titles are listed for the live-action series. While Netflix hasn't officially confirmed them, these titles line up with what series creator Eiichiro Oda has already teased. So if these are legit, Season 2 is gearing up to be another wild ride.
Here’s how the episodes are titled (in alphabetical order):
Big Trouble in Little Garden
Deer and Loathing in Drum Kingdom
Good Whale Hunting
Nami Deerest
Reindeer Shames
The Beginning of the End
Wax On, Wax Off
Whisky Business
These playful titles point straight to some major story arcs from Oda’s manga that fans have been waiting to see in live-action form. Some of these things include Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. Those familiar with the anime and manga know just how pivotal these arcs are in shaping the journey of the Straw Hat Pirates.
As confirmed by Oda, Season 2 will once again weave multiple arcs together just like Season 1 did. The action is expected to kick off in Loguetown, where Luffy gets one step closer to his dream before heading into Reverse Mountain, the gateway to the Grand Line.
From there, it’s straight into the dangers of Whiskey Peak, the prehistoric chaos of Little Garden, and the emotional core of Drum Island.
These arcs will also bring in key new characters including the bounty hunter Smoker (Callum Kerr) and Baroque Works agents Miss Wednesday (Charithra Chandran) and All Sunday (Lera Abova).
On top of that there’s fan-favorite reindeer doctor Tony Tony Chopper (Mikaela Hoover), alongside Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha and Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk.
The new season’s cast also includes Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, and Joe Manganiello stepping into the role of Sir Crocodile. Returning favorites include Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.
The official synopsis for the series reads: “The series follows the story of ‘Monkey D. Luffy, a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom since he can remember.
“Luffy sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, One Piece, to become King of the Pirates! But in order to find the ultimate prize, Luffy will need to assemble the crew he’s always wanted before finding a ship to sail, searching every inch of the vast seas, outpacing the Marines, and outwitting dangerous rivals at every turn.’”
With production underway and a release set for next year, it's only a matter of time before we see more of Luffy and the crew’s journey come to life. Judging by these episode titles, Season 2 is going to be packed with heart, humor, and some seriously epic moments.
