Netflix Renews SPLINTER CELL: DEATHWATCH Animated Series For Season 2

Netflix has announced that we will be getting more covert missions and high-stakes espionage, as Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch animated series will return for Season 2.

The renewal comes not long after the first season dropped. I’ve only watch the first episode of the series, but so far it’s pretty good. It made a strong impression with its slick animation, grounded storytelling, and thrilling stealth-action sequences that capture the spirit of the classic Ubisoft video game.

It’s produced by Ubisoft, Sun Creature, and Fost, with Derek Kolstad, the creative mind behind John Wick and Nobody, serving as a driving creative force behind the series.

Here’s the official logline for the show: “In this first-ever adaptation of the acclaimed stealth video game franchise Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, legendary agent Sam Fisher is drawn back into the field when a wounded young operative seeks out his help. Produced by Ubisoft, in partnership with Derek Kolstad (John Wick), Sun Creature and Fost.”

Liev Schreiber brings his signature intensity to the role of Sam Fisher, joined by Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Zinnia Mckenna.

The series is directed by Guillaume Dousse with Félicien Colmet-Daage serving as co-director. The animation, handled by Sun Creature and Fost, gives the show a gritty yet cinematic look that fits perfectly within the world of espionage and tactical warfare.

While the first season is still fresh on Netflix, the streamer is obviously confident in expanding this universe. Fans of both the video game series can expect Kolstad’s signature mix of grounded action, sharp dialogue, and moral complexity to continue shaping Splinter Cell: Deathwatch.
