The First Trailer for Netflix and Ubisoft’s SPLINTER CELL: DEADTHWATCH Anime Drops
Netflix has dropped the official trailer for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, the long-awaited anime adaptation of Ubisoft’s popular stealth-action video game series. The show is set to hit the streaming platform this October, and it centers on the iconic spy Sam Fisher, who is brought to life in animation for the first time.
The series is a joint production between Ubisoft, Sun Creature, and Fost, with Derek Kolstad, the creator behind John Wick and Nobody, serving as a key creative force.
For longtime fans of the franchise, this is a big deal as the game series, which launched back in 2002, has always been about suspense, precision, and the thrill of operating in the shadows. Now, that legacy is taking on a new animated form.
In the story, Sam Fisher is pulled back into the world of espionage when a wounded young operative comes to him for help. That premise already feels like a classic Splinter Cell hook, balancing Fisher’s hardened experience with a fresh perspective that could open the door to new storytelling angles.
Liev Schreiber lends his voice to Sam Fisher, while Kirby Howell-Baptiste voices Zinnia McKenna, the young operative at the heart of the story.
The new trailer is loaded with slick action sequences, hand-to-hand combat, and of course, those glowing green night-vision goggles that are practically synonymous with the franchise.
Seeing Fisher’s world come alive in anime form is exciting, and it’s set to premiere on October 14th.
