New AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Posters Put Doctor Doom and His Mysterious Latverian Witches in the Spotlight
Marvel Studios is giving fans another look at its next big MCU villain with six new posters for Avengers: Doomsday, and Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is getting all the attention.
The posters offer a closer look at Victor Von Doom’s intimidating throne, his iconic mask and armor, and the supernatural-looking abilities he’ll bring to the MCU. There’s also plenty of attention being given to the Latverian Witches, a group of masked characters who have fans wondering exactly who might be hiding underneath.
Some fans are convinced these mysterious figures are familiar Marvel characters, but their identities remain a secret. Whoever they turn out to be, Marvel certainly seems interested in making them an important part of Doom’s story.
When Downey Jr.’s casting was first announced, plenty of fans worried that Marvel would simply turn Doom into an evil version of Tony Stark. So far, the marketing and the filmmakers suggest something very different.
Marvel appears committed to establishing Victor Von Doom as a terrifying new threat rather than relying on the actor’s connection to Iron Man, which is the right movie. I hope he’s not a Tont Stark variant.
Avengers: Doomsday will bring beloved heroes from three different universes together as they face a devastating threat that could change the MCU forever. With Doctor Doom at the center of it all, the heroes are going to have their hands full.
