New BAD DAY AT THE OFFICE Trailer Unleashes Insane First-Person POV Action

Bad Day at the Office looks absolutely insane! Action Xtreme has released the main official trailer for director Chee Keong Cheung’s first-person POV action thriller, and it throws us straight into a violent, chaotic nightmare that plays like a live-action first-person shooter.

We haven't had many movies go all-in on this style lately, and Bad Day at the Office is filmed entirely from a first-person perspective using GoPros. The result looks like one seriously wild trip through gunfights, beatdowns, explosions, and a conspiracy that keeps getting stranger.

The story follows Karl, played by John Hannah, who wakes up in a trashed hotel room with no memory of who he is or how he got there. Things get considerably worse when he finds a corpse in the bathtub and the cops show up at his door.

Karl ends up on the run with hotel maid Molly, played by Radha Mitchell, as the pair attempt to figure out what happened to his memories and why so many people want him dead.

Here’s the official synopsis: “When Karl (John Hannah) awakes in a wrecked hotel room with a splitting headache, it isn’t because he’s nursing a nasty hangover. Karl has no memory of what’s happened, where he is, or even who he is.

“When he discovers a dead body in his bathtub, and police officers soon knocking at his door, it sets into motion a terrifying & explosive series of events that force Karl & hotel maid Molly (Radha Mitchell) on a descent into a deceptive world of confusion and conspiracy, all the while with a price on his head and half the city in murderous pursuit.

“Karl will need to draw on his forgotten skill sets if he has any hope of survival, as he & Molly try to unravel what took his memories.”

Bad Day at the Office premiered this summer at the 2026 Edinburgh International Film Festival as part of its Midnight section, and the festival introduction described the experience perfectly:

"Shot in the style of first-person shooter video games with cine-literate wit, humor, ferocious pacing and a cracking soundtrack, this is an anarchic, ultra-violent, hilarious thrill ride of pure, cinematic carnage. The ultimate Midnight Madness experience."

Cheung previously directed Underground, Bodyguard: A New Beginning, Redcon-1, and Son of the Soil. He co-wrote Bad Day at the Office with Oliver Morran.

The first-person POV gimmick could make this a very fun watch, especially if the movie can maintain the frantic energy packed into the trailer.

Bad Day at the Office hits UK cinemas on October 30th, 2026.
