New DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Promo Drops as Charlie Cox Teases a Risky Season 3 Twist
The hype around Daredevil: Born Again is only getting stronger as we get closer to Season 2’s premiere, and Marvel just added fuel to the fire with a fresh promo packed with new footage.
At the same time, Charlie Cox is opening up about what’s coming next, and it sounds like Season 3 is aiming for something major that could shake up the entire series.
Fans have been on quite the journey with Matt Murdock. After Daredevil wrapped its three-season run on Netflix, the future looked uncertain. That changed when Cox officially stepped into the MCU with Spider-Man: No Way Home, reigniting interest in the character in a big way.
Now, with Born Again fully underway and Season 2 just days from release, Marvel already has its eyes locked on what comes next.
Season 3 is currently in production, and according to showrunner Dario Scardapane, the direction is no mystery once Season 2 wraps. He explained that after the finale, fans “will know exactly where Season 3 is going.”
Having watched Season 2, I can tell you that it does give us a pretty clear setup is coming, and things are going to get even more interesting.
Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio also chimed in on what lies ahead, especially as the Mayor Fisk storyline barrels toward its conclusion. While both actors kept specifics under wraps, Cox didn’t hide how intense things are about to get:
"There's a pitch that was presented to both of us that is seismic, that we can't talk about," Cox confirmed. "It's something that the show escalates towards, that I was equally excited about and excited to explore, and also concerned by because it's something that, if not handled appropriately, could not be good."
That kind of tease opens the door to a lot of possibilities. Whether it’s a full power shift in New York, a dramatic fall for both Daredevil and Fisk, or even something inspired by darker comic arcs like Shadowland, the show is clearly building toward something that could redefine the character’s place in the MCU.
Cox continued, giving fans a little more insight into why this story direction has him both excited and cautious: "It's a big, bold story point. I believe, and I hope, that it's been handled really well."
D’Onofrio backed that up, reassuring fans that the creative team has approached it carefully, adding that he and Cox “worry about everything.”
Meanwhile, Season 2 itself looks like it’s going to put Matt through the wringer. The plot summary paints a grim picture of New York under Wilson Fisk’s control, with Daredevil forced to operate from the shadows as he tries to bring down the Kingpin’s empire. The themes of survival, resistance, and redemption are front and center, and the city is heading into full-blown chaos.
The returning cast brings a lot of familiar faces back into the fight, including Deborah Ann Woll, Ayelet Zurer, Wilson Bethel, and Margarita Levieva. On top of that, we've got Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones, alongside newcomer Matthew Lillard in a mysterious role.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 pushes the story into much riskier territory, and it setting up something wild for Season 3.
Daredevil: Born Again hits Disney+ on March 24, and it looks like we’re only just getting started.
