New Details Revealed for the Mysterious Inquisitor in STAR WARS: AHSOKA

Star Wars has shared details on the identity of the mysterious masked Inquisitor character that was seen wielding a double-edged red lightsaber in the trailer for Star Wars: Ahsoka.

The character’s name is Marrok and he was once an Inquisitor hunting down and killing Jedi for the Empire. It’s explained that Marrok “now works as a mercenary hired by Morgan Elsbeth to carry out dark deeds. Fully encased in battered battle armor, the warrior still carries a red double-bladed saber with a circular hilt.”

There are no details on what the warrior’s motivations are, but the fact Marrok was hired by Elsbeth says a lot. Elsbeth was introduced in The Mandalorian Season 2 and is an ally of Grand Admiral Thrawn and an enemy of the New Republic. She also once hunted Ahsoka Tano on the world of Corvus before she was beaten in battle and arrested for being an Imperial sympathizer.

Some fans thought that the character might have been Galen Marek, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice from the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video games, that’s obviously not the case, though.

The official logline for Ahsoka reads: “Set after the fall of the Empire, Star Wars: Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.”

The show will pick up where Star Wars Rebels left off and the search for Ezra Bridger begins. The series is set after the fall of the Empire, and “follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.”

That threat is Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), who we get a first look at in the trailer, and Ezra took off with him to an unknown location. Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) joins Ahsoka on her journey, and she is still very much dedicated to finding Ezra. They will be joined by Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and the droid, Chopper, and Zeb will also most likely return.

The series also stars Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ivanna Sakhno, Eman Esfandi as Ezra, Ray Stevenson as Baylon, and Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati.

The limited series is written by Dave Filoni who executive produces along with Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy.

Ahsoka will debut on Disney+ on August 23, 2023.
