New Featurette Takes Us Inside the Adrenaline-Fueled World of Edgar Wright’s THE RUNNING MAN

Paramount has dropped a brand-new featurette for The Running Man, and it’s giving fans an exciting look into Edgar Wright’s explosive new sci-fi thriller before it hits theaters this November.

The video dives deep into the film’s dystopian world and the pulse-pounding game show that turns survival into prime-time entertainment.

Based on Stephen King’s 1982 novel, The Running Man follows Glen Powell as Ben Richards, a desperate man willing to risk it all in a lethal competition to save his family. The government controls the media, the poor are crushed under its boot, and the only shot at freedom comes from a show that pits ordinary people against professional killers known as Hunters.

The new featurette explores how Wright and his team reimagined King’s story for 2025 audiences, building a gritty, futuristic world where the spectacle of violence feels disturbingly close to home.

Powell leads a killer cast that includes Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo.

Written by Wright and Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street), the film promises to be more faithful to King’s novel than the 1987 version starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wright has said he wanted to honor the spirit of King’s original vision while pushing the energy and style that fans expect from him.

With Wright at the helm and Powell front and center, The Running Man looks like it could be one of the year’s most fun films. Expect sharp social commentary, slick direction, and plenty of high-octane action when Paramount releases the film in theaters worldwide on November 14th, 2025.
