New GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE Details on Ray Stantz, Podcast, and Phoebe Spengler
We’ve got some more new details to share with you for the highly-anticipated Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire movie. These new details Dan Aykroyd’s Ray Stantz, Logan Kim’s Podcast, and Mckenna Grace’s Phoebe Spengler.
The movie will see Ray and Podcast teaming up in the film. Aykroyd said in an interview with Empire: “Ray and Podcast are buddies – Ray’s a mentor to him, He’s renting Ray’s basement to shoot an Instagram series called ‘Repossessed’, where people bring in objects they think are haunted.”
It sounds like those two characters will have some fun scenes together. As for Phoebe Spengler, she is living her dream. Grace says “Phoebe’s in her element. She’s now ghostbusting on a totally different scale to what she was doing in Oklahoma.”
It’ll be fun to see her story arc continue to play out and see her fully engulfed in her element of science and ghosthunting.
In the story, New York City finds itself freezing over due to an ancient artifact that unleashes an evil force! “The Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-writer and executive producer Gil Kenan is directing the sequel, with Afterlife director and co-writer Jason Reitman serving as writer and executive producer. The movie stars Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, comedian James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind have joined the cast! They join returning cast members Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace. Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson are also all back for the new supernatural adventure!
The film is scheduled to be released on March 22nd, 2024.
