New GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE Images Feature The Old and New Ghostbuster Teams and Janine Finally Suits Up!
We’ve got two new images to share with you for Sony Pictures’ Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire to share with you today! These are the covers for Empire Magazine and one of them features the new Ghostbusters team and the other one features the old one.
The new crew consists of Carrie Coon as Callie Spengler, Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace’s teens Trevor and Phoebe Spengler, and Paul Rudd’s Gary Grooberson.
The old crew features Bill Murray’s Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd’s Ray Stantz, and Ernie Hudson’s Winston Zeddemore, all suited up. But there’s also the surprising addition of Annie Potts who is back as Janine Melnitz, and she’s also suited up and ready to bust some ghosts! This is so cool!
I hope that the original film’s cast has a bigger role in this sequel than they did in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
In the story, New York City finds itself freezing over due to an ancient artifact that unleashes an evil force! Also, the original Ghostbusters return! Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson are all back for the new adventure! The synopsis reads:
In Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, the Spengler family returns to where it all started – the iconic New York City firehouse – to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who’ve developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. But when the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is being directed by Gil Kenan, from a script he co-wrote with Jason Reitman who serves as executive producer on the new film. The movie also stars Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, comedian James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind have joined the cast.
The film is scheduled to be released on March 29th, 2024.
