New Image of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince in WONDER WOMAN 1984
Director Patty Jenkins has shared a new photo of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince in DC’s Wonder Woman 1984. She may not be wearing her iconic costume, but it’s still a beautiful shot of the character. The photo was posted in celebration of Gadot’s birthday.
We don’t really know much about the story, but we do know the film is set in 1984 and is said to follow Diana Prince as she reunites with Steve Trevor to fight a new evil force. The movie stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig as the villain Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal possibly as a God in disguise.
I had a chance to see a bit of new footage of Wonder Woman 1984 at CinemaCon. It wasn’t a lot of footage but it did show Kristen Wiig in action as Cheetah. While that was a casting choice I was initially apprehensive about, from what I saw, it looks like she’s going to pull it off in a great way.
It was also previously explained by producer Charles Roven that the movie is not really a sequel to the original film, but more a standalone story similar to how the James Bond and Indiana Jones franchises work. It’s also said that the movie avoids the trappings of most sequels and is “instead of one continuous story that requires many installments."
Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in theaters on November 1st.
