New JUJUTSU KAISEN Movie Releases First Trailer and Teases Season 3
The world of anime continues to dominate theaters, and Jujutsu Kaisen is keeping the momentum alive. While Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is currently ruling the box office, Jujutsu Kaisen is proving that fans are more than happy to show up for compilation films as well.
The franchise’s latest big-screen event, Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution, has just dropped its first trailer and it’s giving fans a lot to be excited about.
Following the success of Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie, this new film dives back into the intense second season storyline. Execution will focus on the Shibuya Incident Arc, one of the series’ most action-packed and devastating battles, while also giving audiences a first look at what’s coming in season three.
The movie is set to hit North American theaters on December 5th, bringing the Shibuya Incident to the big screen in a new way. The studio describes the project as follows:
“JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution comes to North American theaters nationwide beginning December 5th. For the first time on the big screen, the Shibuya Incident—the greatest battle in JUJUTSU KAISEN to date—will be presented in a special compilation format.
“Additionally, JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution presents the debut of the first two episodes of Season 3’s upcoming arc, ‘Culling Game Part 1’ ahead of its January 2026 streaming debut.
“By connecting the directly linked episodes of the ‘Shibuya Incident’ and ‘Culling Game,’ arcs, the story transforms into a new experience crafted specially for the big screen.”
That means not only do fans get to relive one of the series’ most iconic arcs, but they also get an early taste of season three with the first two episodes premiering months before their official release.
And the next chapter is set to be a major one. Jujutsu Kaisen teased what’s coming in season three with this description:
“In ‘Culling Game,’ Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu—the protagonist of JUJUTSU KAISEN 0—finally enters the fray. Appointed by the higher ups of the jujutsu world as Yuji Itadori’s executioner, Yuta must turn his blade on Yuji. The highly anticipated battle between Satoru Gojo’s two beloved students unfolds on the big screen.”
Yuji Itadori will face off against Yuta Okkotsu in one of the most anticipated clashes in the franchise. Considering the dark turns season two took, anime-only fans should brace themselves, Season 3 is shaping up to be even more brutal.
Even though Gege Akutami wrapped up the original manga last year, Jujutsu Kaisen is far from over. The upcoming season won’t be the end, as the series still has plenty of material to adapt, making a season four almost guaranteed.
On top of that, Akutami has already returned to the world of curses with the sequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo, which follows new characters after the Shibuya Incident and Culling Game. Given the franchise’s popularity, it’s only a matter of time before that story also gets the anime treatment.
For now though, all eyes are on December 5th when Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution brings the Shibuya Incident and the start of the Culling Game Arc to theaters.
