New Look at Lex Luthor’s Warsuit in MAN OF TOMORROW Set Videos Show the Villain Taking a Serious Hit

New photos and videos from the set of Man of Tomorrow have surfaced online, giving fans another look at Nicholas Hoult suited up as Lex Luthor in his iconic Warsuit.

The footage also appears to reveal a brutal moment for the villain as he's sent crashing through a wall during what looks like a major action sequence.

Given the suit's bulkiness, it's pretty cool to see Hoult able to move around in the thing. It must be made of incredibly light material, and a stuntman later wore it for a stunt with Lex being thrown through a brick wall by Superman.

We also see Superman standing over the villain and beat him down. Director James Gunn is even seen showing David Corenswet how to deliver those punches to Lex.

Production is currently underway in Atlanta, and while Hoult can be spotted wearing a practical version of the armor in some shots, much of the footage focuses on his stunt double being yanked backward through a massive hole in the side of a building.

Another video from the set adds even more mystery to the mix. It shows a crowd surrounding an unidentified character before they're suddenly hurled into the air. Without context, it's difficult to tell exactly what's happening, but it's clear Gunn isn't holding back when it comes to large-scale spectacle.

The story for Man of Tomorrow will center on Superman and Lex Luthor setting aside their hatred for one another in order to defend Earth from Brainiac, who will be played by Lars Eidinger. It's a dynamic that should make for an interesting evolution of one of DC's most iconic rivalries.

The cast is packed with returning characters from Superman. Rachel Brosnahan is back as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo returns as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio reprises her role as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced returns as Hawkgirl, and Maria Gabriela de Faría is back as The Engineer.

Aaron Pierre will also return as John Stewart following his appearance in Lanterns. Meanwhile, Adria Arjona has reportedly joined the film as Maxima.

Recently, James Gunn opened up about the central relationship driving the film, explaining why both Superman and Lex resonate with him as characters.

"At its core, it’s about Clark and Lex. I relate to both of them. I relate to Lex’s ambition and obsession — minus the murder. And I relate to Superman’s belief in people, his Midwestern values. They’re two sides of me."

While Brainiac may be the big external threat, the emotional heart of the story appears to be the complicated relationship between Clark Kent and Lex Luthor.

And judging by these latest set photos, that relationship may involve a few punches before the world-saving begins.

Man of Tomorrow is set to hit theaters on July 9, 2027.
