New MARVEL ZOMBIES Photos Tease Villains Scarlet Witch, Namor, and More

New stills from Marvel Zombies have arrived, and they give fans a chilling look at two of the show’s big villains… a zombified Scarlet Witch and Namor. There’s also images of Blade and Thanos.

The upcoming What If…? spin-off will drop as a four-part series, and these images make it clear that things are about to get gruesome. Scarlet Witch looks awesomely haunting in her undead form, and Namor is also set to bring chaos to the survivors who are still clinging to hope in this apocalyptic world.

Showrunner and director Bryan Andrews recently opened up about how Marvel almost released the story as a feature-length film before settling on the four-episode format.

"We were thinking it'd be a movie, if like, 'Ooh, we should release it as a movie.' We should just do a movie," he explained. "But there were some things that came up, certain issues that we just had to kind of, 'Oh let’s break it. We'll have to break it up into four episodes.'"

Andrews continued, "So basically it's like a four-episode mini-event, like a film broke up into four parts, basically. It's one story. It's one throughline. A lot of insanity happens."

That insanity is exactly what fans can expect. Marvel Zombies follows a desperate group of heroes trying to survive after the Avengers and countless other superpowered beings are infected by a devastating zombie plague.

The survivors discover a potential way to stop the undead threat, forcing them to risk everything as they race across a dystopian landscape crawling with danger.

The voice cast includes Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Awkwafina (Katy), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), and Dominique Thorne (Ironheart), among others.

Created by Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells, the series is executive produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Andrews, and Wells, with production by Danielle Costa and Carrie Wassenaar.

Each installment runs about 30 minutes, so fans will be able to binge the entire TV-MA mini-event in one sitting. So, this is basically going to be a brutal, blood-soaked Marvel movie broken into four parts.

Marvel Zombies shuffles onto Disney+ on September 24.
