New Photo From BATGIRL and The Directors Share Message of Support From Kevin Feige

The directors of DC’s scrapped Batgirl movie, Billal Fallah and Adil El Arbi, have shared a new photo from the set of the film featuring Michael Keaton's Batman and Leslie Grace’s Batgirl coming face to face with each along with director El Arbi. It’s a cool image, and it’s just a little tease of what we could’ve seen.

On top of that, the director’s shared a message of support that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige sent them after Warner Bros. canceled Batgirl. That message says:

“My friends, I had to reach and let you know we are all thinking about you both. Because of the wonderful news about the wedding (congrats!) and the disappointing news about ‘Batgirl.’ Very proud of you guys and all the amazing work you do and particularly ‘Ms. Marvel’ of course! Can’t wait to see what is next for you. Hope to see you soon.”

Arbi and Fallah directed two episodes of the Ms. Marvel series. They were in Morocco this week for El Arbi’s wedding when they learned the news about Batgirl. Arbi wrote on Instagram, “Thanks for all the messages of support all over the world. Shoutout directors Edgar Wright and James Gunn, your kind words and experience mean a lot and help us through this difficult period.”

It’s reported that in the film, Keaton would have only appeared in five scenes in Batgirl. This is the information that was shared on his involvement:

“He meets Barbara twice in costume, first on the street telling her not to do this, then in one of those big Tim Burton-y towers where he helps her with something she needs. The last scene of the movie was them teaming up and diving off a gargoyle to fly around Gotham.”

"He didn't train Barbara, she just dressed up as Batman for a Halloween party, stopped some terrorists, and tweaked the costume to be a superhero. He meets Barbara twice in costume, first on the street telling her not to do this, then in one of those big Tim Burton-y towers where he helps her with something she needs."

Batgirl would have ended with the two caped crusaders "teaming up and diving off a gargoyle to fly around Gotham.”
