New Rumor Claims Henry Cavill Is in Talks to Star in New STAR WARS Trilogy From Writer Simon Kinberg
Last week, it was revealed that X-Men franchise writer and producer Simon Kinberg is developing a new Star Wars trilogy with Lucasfilm. He will write and produce the three films with studio chief Kathleen Kennedy.
It’s very early on in the project’s development, and all we know about it so far is that it will take place after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, “Lucasfilm has disputed the notion that Kingberg’s movies will continue the story that George Lucas began with 1977’s A New Hope and continued with eight sequels.”
While a starring character has not yet been revealed, one rumor claims to know the actor who will lead the films.
A new rumor from industry scooper MTTSH is now claiming that Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, The Witcher) has had discussions with the studio about possibly taking a role in the new trilogy.
Cavill is a fan of the Star Wars franchise, and several years ago, he said of his possible future with it:
"I am a fan of them. I would have to read a script and speak to a director before I could possibly say if I’d be interested in being a movie it’s not as simple as you know. Yes, it’d be fun and ideal but what if the script sucks…you’ve got to keep your fingers crossed that it works."
So it’s not out of the question that Cavill could be up for a role if he’s interested in the direction that Kinberg is taking his trilogy.
For now it’s just a rumor, so we will have to wait and see where it goes. Would you like to see Cavill join the films in a galaxy far, far away?
