New SCREAM VI Photos and Teaser Offer Lots of First Looks, and a Trailer Drops Tomorrow!
A new trailer for Scream VI is set to drop tomorrow, but while we wait we have several photos and a little teaser to share with you. The photos come from Entertainment Weekly and they offer a first look at several new and returning characters.
One of the most exciting features the return of Hayden Panettiere’s Scream 4 character Kirby Reed. She talks about her character saying: “[Kirby has] come a long way. What happened to her has obviously impacted her life, and it sends her in a certain direction, but she’s still the same old Kirby at the heart of it. She’s just a little older, a little wiser, but just as spitfire-y, and snarky, and all that good stuff.”
There are also shots of the latest Ghostface killer, Courteney Cox’s return as Gale Weathers, along with the surviving Scream 5 cast that includes Jenna Ortega. Cox talked about the new setting of the franchise saying: “Bringing Ghostface to New York adds an entirely new element to the story. Taking the character out of a small town and putting them in the heart of the city that never sleeps is more terrifying than ever.”
The next chapter of the horror saga “continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.”
Melissa Barrera went on to explain: "These kids are running away, and Ghostface is still finding them in the most beautiful city but also the most terrifying because it's so crowded and it can be aggressive.
Ortega then offered insight into her character saying: "At the top of the film we see my character Tara avoiding her trauma and desperately trying to reclaim her teenage experience and become normal college student. There's a lot of tension between her and Sam, she feels as though she's too protective and unwilling to allow them both to move on. She feels suffocated."
Barrera explains: "Not a lot of time has passed since the last movie. Pretty much, the amount of time that we've had between one movie and the other is the amount of time that has passed in their world. So the trauma is still very fresh. One of my favorite parts about this movie is that we really get to see how the happenings of the last movie affected them. We get to really see the baggage that they're carrying now and how each of them is dealing with it differently."
We’re going to get our best look yet at Scream VI tomorrow when the trailer is released! I’m excited to see what’s in store for this next chapter of the horror franchise!
Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Scream, Ready or Not), are both back behind the camera for the upcoming Scream VI.
The cast also includes Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy, Mason Gooding as Chad, Samara Weaving, Liana Liberato, and Dermot Mulroney. Some newcomers include actor Dermot Mulroney and Mission: Impossible star Henry Czerny, plus Jack Champion (Avengers: Endgame, Avatar: The Way of Water), Liana Liberato (Light as a Feather), Devyn Nekoda (Sneakerella), and Josh Segarra (Arrow's Adrian Chase).
