New STAR TREK: STRNAGE NEW WORLDS Trailer Teases a Fun Retro Vibe and a Murder Mystery

Parmaount+ has released a fun new trailer for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and as you’ll see, it has a retro vibe to it. It teases a blast from the past with a interesting meta twist.

The trailer shows that the USS Enterprise somehow becomes steeped in a retro 1960s aesthetic. All of the sets and the costumes and direction, all have that cool and charming retro tone. This will be just one of the “genre-hopping” adventures this season.

There are also plenty of visually stunning visuals, and it also looks like we will be getting a murder-mystery-inspired story that was previously described as “a Hollywood murder mystery [episode] rooted in Star Trek reality.”

We also see guest star Patton Oswalt playing a Vulcan, and it highlights the development of the relationship between Spock and Christine Chapel

While there’s still no firm release date, the trailer promises that Season 3 will debut “this summer.” It’s been a long wait for this season thanks to the Hollywood labor strikes and the massive amount of work that goes into bringing this show to life.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise in the years that Captain Christopher Pike captained the storied starship. The series follows Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, Number One, and the rest of the U.S.S. Enterprise crew in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the starship, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

The series also stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La'an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M'Benga.

Enjoy the new trailer!
