New SUPERGIRL Teaser Sees Superman Checking in on Kara, and Things Look a Little Messy
A new teaser for Supergirl has been released ahead of the full trailer, and while it’s short, it gives fans a fun and revealing glimpse at Kara Zor-El’s current situation… and her connection to Superman.
After the launch of the DCU with Superman and the expansion through shows like Peacemaker, things are only getting bigger. With Lanterns on the horizon and Supergirl arriving as the next major film, DC Studios is continuing to build out its new universe.
James Gunn confirmed that the full trailer for Supergirl will arrive tomorrow, but he didn’t leave fans empty-handed. The teaser he shared offers a quick look at Milly Alcock’s Kara, and let’s just say… she’s not exactly living in pristine Kryptonian order.
The footage takes place inside Kara’s ship, which is drifting through space with her and Krypto. The vibe is chaotic, a bit rough around the edges.
The standout moment comes from David Corenswet’s Superman, who appears via a recorded message. He’s simply checking in on her and making sure she’s ok. It’s a small moment, but it says a lot about their relationship.
There’s a sense that Clark is trying to stay connected while Kara is going through a rough time and distancing herself from her one family member who is there for her.
Fans will remember that Kara briefly appeared at the end of Superman, showing up after being away from Earth, picking up her dog and then taking off. Clark’s message hints that it’s been a while since they’ve seen each other.
We already knew Supergirl takes place after Superman and before Man of Tomorrow, but this moment suggests there’s been a noticeable stretch of time between those stories.
It’s a small tease, but it does exactly what it needs to do. We’ll get the full trailer tomorrow, so stay tuned!
