Netflix has released a new trailer for their upcoming thriller drama series Ripley, which is based on author Patricia Highsmith’s classic novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley. It looks like it will be a great show!
The series stars Andrew Scott, who portrays the main character, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York. “He is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son Dickie Greenleaf to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder. Meanwhile, Marge Sherwood, an American living in Italy, suspects darker motives underlie Tom’s affability.”

The series is written and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Steven Zaillian (Searching For Bobby Fisher, All The King’s Men, The Night Of). It will be released on Netflix on April 4th.
