What We Do in the Shadows is coming back for a fifth season and today we’ve got a new trailer for you to watch teasing the silly hijinks that the devious vampires of Staten Island get themselves into. The host of characters has a whole new set of problems to deal with.
One of the more amusing aspects of the series is Guillermo’s (Harvey Guillén) story arc. Last season he asked his friend, Derek, to turn him into a vampire and now he’s struggling with his unsuccessful attempt to become a vampire. But, he strikes up an unlikely friendship with Laszlo.
This series is based on the hilarious feature film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, the series documents the nightly exploits of vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) as they navigate the modern world of Staten Island with the help of their human familiar, Guillermo.
The show presents a mockumentary-style format, documenting the mundane and ridiculous aspects of vampire existence as they navigate modern society. The main characters include Nandor, the self-proclaimed leader of the group; Laszlo, a centuries-old vampire with a mischievous nature; Nadja, a seductive and cunning vampire; and Colin Robinson, an energy vampire who feeds off the boredom and annoyance of others.
What We Do in the Shadows premieres July 13th on FX and will be available to stream on Hulu.
