Extended TV Spot For THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU Features and a Delightful Grogu Moment
We’ve got a fun extended TV spot for The Mandalorian and Grogu for you to watch, offering another look at the upcoming Star Wars big screen adventure.
The 60-second promo mostly pulls footage from the recently released trailer, but it also sneaks in a few fresh moments that highlight Din Djarin and Grogu’s next dangerous mission.
With the film arriving in theaters in just over two months, the marketing push is starting to ramp up, and this latest preview offers a fun tease of the trouble waiting for the galaxy’s favorite duo.
The new spot includes a couple of quick additions. One of the highlights shows Din Djarin and Grogu flying toward their ship, while another moment gives Grogu a small delightful scene-stealing gag.
When Mando checks on him and asks if he’s okay, the little green companion responds with an adorable sneeze. It’s a little moment, but it perfectly captures the charm that made Grogu such a massive fan favorite.
The story will put Din Djarin and Grogu directly in the path of the Hutt Twins, the crime lord siblings who previously appeared in The Book of Boba Fett. From what we see in the footage, the Hutts aren’t interested in negotiations.
Instead, they appear ready to feed the pair to a massive Dragonsnake creature. The setup feels like a classic callback to Jabba the Hutt tossing Luke Skywalker into the rancor pit in Return of the Jedi, only this time the Mandalorian and Grogu are the ones facing the monster.
The film marks the first theatrical Star Wars release since The Rise of Skywalker closed out the sequel trilogy, and according to Dave Filoni, the franchise is now operating in a very different creative space. Reflecting on the evolution of the saga, Filoni explained:
“Episode VII was a completely different entity. I had dreams of Episode VII since I came out of Return Of The Jedi. You were like, ‘After VI comes VII! Where’s VII?’ We’re in a completely different era of Star Wars now."
The movie is directed by Jon Favreau, who also produces alongside Kennedy and Filoni. Favreau has spent years shaping the corner of the galaxy that began with the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, and now he’s bringing that story to theaters for the first time.
"I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created. The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting."
Kennedy echoed that enthusiasm for the characters making the jump to theaters, saying, "Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen."
Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin, while Sigourney Weaver joins the franchise as Ward, a colonel who leads the New Republic’s Adelphi Rangers and previously served as a Rebel Alliance pilot.
The story is also expected to feature the bounty hunter Embo, a character introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, who is rumored to serve as the film’s primary antagonist.
The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters on May 22, 2026.
