THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU Trailer Unleashes an Exciting STAR WARS Adventure!
As promised, a new trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu has been released, and it’s packed with everything fans love about this corner of the galaxy. This is a fun trailer and it teases an exciting Star Wars adventure! I’m excited about this movie!
We get fresh footage, strange new aliens, familiar faces, and even a surprising unmasked moment that’s sure to get people talking. With the film set to hit theaters this summer, this latest look makes it clear that Lucasfilm is aiming big as it brings Din Djarin and Grogu to the big screen.
Directed by Jon Favreau and starring Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, the movie expands the story that began on Disney+. Joining Pascal is Sigourney Weaver as Colonel Ward and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, which already makes this one of the more interesting casting lineups in recent Star Wars history.
This new trailer goes much bigger than the one we saw last year. We get a new look at Zeb Orrelios, now flying for the New Republic, along with a wild mix of galactic personalities.
There’s a Kyuzo bounty hunter, an Ardennian fry cook, and the always entertaining Anzellans. The footage also shows Mando without his helmet.
The official synopsis lays out where the story picks up: “The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu”.
The story puts Din and Grogu right in the middle of the New Republic’s growing pains. The Empire may have collapsed, but it hasn’t disappeared. Warlords are still out there causing chaos, and it looks like our favorite Mandalorian duo are being pulled into something larger than a simple bounty job.
This film also marks a major milestone for the franchise. It’s the first Star Wars movie to hit theaters since 2019, and it officially kicks off the summer 2026 box office on Memorial Day weekend, May 22.
With no Marvel Cinematic Universe movie opening that frame, the stage is wide open. The big question is whether it can top Lilo & Stitch’s $146 million domestic opening and claim the biggest Memorial Day weekend debut ever?
After this, the galaxy keeps expanding with Star Wars: Starfighter set to arrive in 2027. On the TV side, Maul – Shadow Lord will explore events between The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, bringing back the iconic ex-Sith Lord. And Ahsoka season 2 is also expected this year, continuing that story thread.
For now, though, all eyes are on The Mandalorian & Grogu. Din Djarin and Grogu heading to theaters feels like a full-circle moment for a series that helped define the Disney+ era of Star Wars.
Seeing them scale up to a cinematic adventure with larger stakes is exactly the kind of event that could reignite the big screen side of the franchise.
The Mandalorian & Grogu arrives in theaters on May 22. Lets us know what you think of the new trailer!
