Nicolas Cage's Horror Film LONGLEGS Gets a Viral Website Detailing "The Birthday Murders"
The great marketing for Nicolas Cage's upcoming horror movie Longlegs continues with a new website that has been launched detailing the horrific murders and victims of the fictional serial killer and all the gory details.
The website is called “The Birthday Murders” and it also shows how the Oregon police wound up connecting each crime.
The Home page of the website reads:
For nearly three decades, this Satan-worshipping psycho has terrorized families throughout the Pacific Northwest. A bloody trail of bodies here in the great state of Oregon attests to the depraved savagery of this one-of-a-kind serial killer.
With over three dozen victims that we know of, LONGLEGS is one of the most prolific mass murderers ever to have graced the region, and his gruesome endeavors are the stuff of nightmares.
The Victims page features details and unsettling bloody photos of the murders and there was a “series of eerie coded messages left at the crime scenes indicating that someone – or something – is influencing these horrific crimes. The cryptic letters are signed by someone calling himself... Longlegs.”
The website also shares:
"With thirty-eight kills to his name, Longlegs has torn apart the lives of eleven different families throughout the Beaver State. His victims were good people: honest fathers, decent mothers, innocent little children."
When talking about the film, director Osgood Perkins said: "So it's Silence Of The Lambs but it's also kind of Zodiac, it's sort of Seven. There's kind of a pattern, a cipher, the sort of things you recognize.
“I'll say the word Manson early on in the movie, do you know what I mean? You make it fair. But then you do your truth on the other side."
The movie has been getting great reviews and it’s being hyped as one of the scariest movies of the decade. I hope that the movie actually lives up to that hype! It certainly looks like a creepy-ass movie!
This movie follows Maika Monroe’s character, Lee Harker, a gifted new FBI agent, who is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case.
“As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.”
Longlegs is set to be released on July 12th, 2024.
