Oscar Isaac Says He’s Ready to Return as Poe Dameron in STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER

Oscar Isaac is ready to jump back into an X-Wing cockpit. The actor recently revealed that he would be up for reprising his role as Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter.

When asked on the red carpet at TIFF if he’d like to reunite with Ryan Gosling and return to the galaxy far, far away, Isaac didn’t hesitate. He told Entertainment Tonight: "I'm ready for it. Let me know when."

Isaac first suited up as Poe in The Force Awakens before continuing the fight against the First Order in The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. His character quickly became a fan favorite, teaming up with Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) to take the Resistance into battle.

With Starfighter set to unfold “five or six years” after those events, as director Shawn Levy has teased, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Poe back in action.

Star Wars: Starfighter was officially announced at Star Wars Celebration 2025, with Levy directing and Jonathan Tropper writing the script.

The film is described as “an all-new standalone adventure” and “an original story set in a period of time never before explored.” The cast includes Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams.

Plot details are still under wraps, but expectations are sky high. It would actually be pretty cool to see Isaac return as Poe Dameron alongside Gosling.

Star Wars: Starfighter is scheduled to hit theaters on May 28, 2027.
