Owen Wilson Gives Update on WEDDING CRASHERS 2, Says They're "Exploring Some Ideas"

It’s been 17 years since the raunchy and hilarious comedy Wedding Crashers hit theaters, and ever since, there have been rumors about a sequel. Even as recently as last year, we reported that the stars of the film, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, were in talks to make the sequel. Apparently it was close to coming together until Wilson had to back out to make the new Haunted Mansion movie for Disney.

But once again, a Wedding Crashers 2 is reportedly being talked about again. Owen Wilson recently spoke with Extra about his new movie, Secret Headquarters, and gave an update about the sequel, saying:

"They're working on some stuff, yes. David Dobkin, the director, I think he's sort of, kind of exploring some ideas. And it was kind of, one of those movies that we had such a great time doing it, and then obviously it got a really nice response. So, just hoping if you do do something, that it can live up to the first one."

I think it would be fun to see a sequel to Wedding Crashers, but I think part of the problem is getting that crazy cast back together. Besides Wilson and Vaughn, the original also starred Rachel McAdams, Isla Fisher, Christopher Walken, Jane Seymour, Bradley Cooper, Will Ferrell, Keir O’Donnell, Rebecca De Morney, and Dwight Yoakam. It would be awesome if they could all return!

Of course, this is just them exploring ideas for now, but it sounds like the main players want to make it happen, and want to make it worth it for fans. We will keep you posted as things develop.
