Paramount Pictures Confirms Sequels To A QUIET PLACE, CLOVERFIELD, and Two New STAR TREK Sequels

During Paramount Pictures' big movie presentation at CinemaCon, sequels were confirmed to be in development for three big film properties. Studio Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos confirmed that they were developing a sequel to John Krasinki's A Quiet Place, which isn't surprising at all. We all knew that was going to happen. The writers said that they already have ideas for it. He said:

“We’re already working with these guys on a sequel. If you told me five years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from ‘The Office’ would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said, ‘Well, I should go work at Paramount.'”

He also announced that they were developing not one, but two more Star Trek films. One of those films, as you know, is being developed by Quentin Tarantino

J.J. Abrams also set the record straight with his upcoming film Overlord, saying that it is not a part of the Cloverfield universe, which is what was rumored. He then added that there will be a direct sequel to the first Cloverfield movie that was made and that it would be released soon. He didn't offer anything more than that information.

So it looks like we've got lots of fun sequels to look forward to seeing. I really hope that they turn out great. Especially the sequel for A Quiet Place. It'll be interesting to see if lightning can strike twice for that horror franchise.
