Paramount Pictures Sets a Release Date for SCREAM 6
With Scream 6 starting production this summer, Paramount Pictures has announced that the sequel is set to be released in theaters on March 31st, 2023. The last film that was released was a big success for the studio. It breathed new life in the franchise, and as long it keeps making money, the studio is going to keep pumping out films. I just hope they can keep the stories fun and interesting.
The sequel comes from the directing team Radio Silence, which consists of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. They helmed the most recent film, and they are joined once again by writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
There are no details regarding the story, but we all know a new Ghostface will emerge and start murdering teenagers again and of course, the killers will be connected to the original legacy characters in some way. Who knows, maybe they’ll bring Matthew Lillard’s Stew back! He could’ve secretly survived the original film.
Courteney Cox recently revealed that there’s a completed script for the sequel and that she will be returning. We don’t know who else is coming back, but I assume that Neve Campbell will return as well. She previously said, "They have approached me. There's no script yet. There is a draft coming in soon is what I was told. Actually, I was supposed to call a producer yesterday, because he wanted to talk to me about what's going on. You know, we'll see. I'll read the script and see how I feel."
Well, if Cox has got a script, chances are Campbell has got one as well. I’m sure we’ll see a few other familiar faces. Star tuned for more details!
