Patrick Stewart Says STAR TREK: PICARD Will Surprise and Shock Fans

A lot of Star Trek fans have high hopes for the upcoming Star Trek: Picard series. Fans were extremely pleased with the trailer that was released and the excitement for the show is high.

During a recent interview with Examiner Live, Patrick Stewart offered up some additional thoughts on the series and what made the difference for him wanting to come back to the role:

“I don’t regard it as going back. In fact, we are definitely moving the series forward and that’s what made the difference for me. It was a very difficult decision.”

He went on to say that fans might be surprised and shocked by what they are doing with the character:

“We are looking at a new world with new objectives, problems and issues that could not have been raised when we were making The Next Generation and I found that very exciting. It’s very exciting and people will be surprised and perhaps even shocked.”

There’s still so much that we don’t know about the series, but I can’t wait to see how exactly the story is going to play out! What we do know is that Picard assembles a crew for a mission to protect a mysterious young woman named Dahj (Isa Briones) who shares a connection with him.

The series also stars Santiago Cabrera as Cristobal “Chris” Rios, Michelle Hurd as Raffi Musiker, Alison Pill as Dr. Agnes Jurati, Harry Treadaway as Narek, and Evan Evagora as Elnor. Then there’s Brent Spiner who reprises his role as Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation along with Star Trek: Voyager’s Jeri Ryan returning as Seven of Nine, Jonathan Frakes as Will Riker and Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi.

Star Trek: Picard is going to premiere in late 2019 on CBS All Access.
