It’s been announced that director Patty JenkinsStar Wars: Rogue Squadron movie will be written by Matthew Robinson and I’m actually happy with this news. Robinson is the writer of one of my favorite films of 2020, Love and Monsters. That movie was just so good and filled with heart and it told a fun adventure story. I think he could deliver a great Star Wars film!

Robinson has also worked on films such as The Invention of Lying, Monster Trucks, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold. He also wrote the scripts for upcoming film projects Live Die Repeat and Repeat and Little Shop of Horrors.

When previously talking about her Star Wars film, Jenkins said that it will tell an original story and that it will be inspired by the Rogue Squadron games and books. It will not be a direct adaptation of any pre-existing narrative:

“[In the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron movie] we're doing something original with great influence from the games and the books. There's a lot of things being acknowledged and understood about the greatness of all of those things, but yes, it's an original story and I'm so psyched to do it."

What do you think about Robinson writing the script for Rogue Squadron?
