PEACEMAKER Fans Think Overman Is About to Show Up in Season 2
Peacemaker Season 2 has officially gone full comic book wild as Episode 6 revealed that Chris Smith’s so-called “idyllic alternate dimension” is actually Earth X, a reality where Nazis won and rule the world.
Some fans had predicted it, others were stunned, but one thing is certain… this revelation has sparked a flood of speculation about the possible arrival of one of DC’s darkest characters: Overman.
The episode also gave us a surprise appearance from Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, something that James Gunn has teased as a setup for the next big chapter. But if fans are right, it’s not Lex Luthor or any other familiar villain that Peacemaker should fear. It’s Overman, the Nazi Superman of Earth-10.
Overman is what happens when Kal-El’s rocket crashes in Nazi Germany instead of Kansas. The Arrowverse already toyed with this concept in Supergirl, with Melissa Benoist playing her own evil counterpart during “Crisis on Earth-X.” Now, many believe Gunn is laying the groundwork for the DCU’s version of Overman.
Social media has been ablaze with theories, with fans convinced that the superpowered tyrant will appear before the end of Season 2:

With the hype reaching fever pitch, the real question is who would play him. Many assume David Corenswet, the DCU’s Superman, would take on the role, but Gunn poured cold water on that theory in a recent interview with Variety.
When asked directly about Corenswet showing up, Gunn responded: “No. In fact, David was very upset that Nick got to be on the show, and he didn’t. It just didn’t work.”
That doesn’t necessarily kill the idea of Overman, but it does make things complicated. Since Overman’s face is meant to mirror Superman’s, casting anyone other than Corenswet might feel off. Unless, of course, Gunn pulls a crazy wild card and brings back Henry Cavill in a shocking cameo, but I doubt that will happen. However, it would give Cavill one last Kryptonian moment, and also blow fandom wide open.

Whether Gunn actually delivers Overman or not, Peacemaker has set the stage for something huge. The Earth X reveal alone has fans reeling, and the final stretch of the season could drop one of the wildest DCU cameos yet.
