Pedro Pascal Joins Ridley Scott's GLADIATOR Sequel

Pedro Pascal has just landed a pretty epic film gig as he’s been cast in director Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel. The actor joins the previously cast Paul Mescal as Lucius, Barry Keoghan as Emperor Geta, Denzel Washington in a mystery role, Connie Nielsen will be back as Lucilla, and Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn will play Emperor Caracalla.

The movie centers on Lucius, the son of Lucilla, and nephew of Commodus, the son of Roman leader Marcus Aurelius who murdered his father and seized the throne. Commodus met his downfall in the gladiator ring against Maximus, who despite being mortally wounded, took down the emperor before passing on to reunite with his family. Maximus had saved Lucius and his mother, leaving a lasting impact on the young boy.

There’s no information on who Pascal will be playing, but after The Last of Us, he had been weighing a number of film options to shoot before jumping back into Season 2 of the series, and he wasn’t going to pass on the opportunity to appear in the Gladiator sequel!

Pascal is a fantastic actor that is enjoying great success with his recent projects and he’s become quite a popular actor. It’ll be interesting to see who he ends up playing in the film!
