Plot Details For Lucasfilm's OBI-WAN KENOBI Series and Commander Cody Rumored To Appear
A new rumor has surfaced from Star Wars podcast Kessel Run Transmissions regarding Lucasfilm’s Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series which is coming to Disney+.
They start out by confirming previous reports that both Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader will appear in the show. They then went on to say that Clone Commander Cody and the 212th Clone Battalion will also appear in the show!
This means that the series will have to include flashbacks to the events of The Clone Wars, with Hayden Christensen set to appear as Anakin Skywalker in his armor from that period of time. There’s no doubt that Lucasfilm will use visual effects to make Christensen and Ewan McGregor look a bit younger, the same way they looked from Revenge of the Sith.
The report also notes that the story for the series primarily revolves around Darth Vader’s hunt for his former Master, Obi-Wan. It’s unlikely the two will come face to face seeing as how their story arc plays out in the saga. But, who knows! Maybe Lucasfilm came up with a way to make it happen. A young Luke Skywalker and Jar-Jar Binks (Ahmed Best) are also rumored to appear on the series in some capacity.
I’m excited about this show! I think it’s going to turn out pretty cool! This is a Star Wars story that I want to see! Production on the series is set to begin early in 2021, with McGregor reprising his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul, American Gods, The Mandalorian) will direct the series as well as serve as showrunner, with Hossein Amini (Drive, McMafia) and Joby Harold (Awake, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) writing.
