Prime Video Promo Offers First Look at Donald Glover's MR. & MRS. SMITH, REACHER Season 2, GEN V, and More

Prime Video has released a promo video featuring footage from some of its upcoming films and TV shows. It offers a first look at Donald Glover’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Reacher Season 2, The Boys spinoff series Gen V, and more.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith will be released in November and it’s “a new take and iteration” on the 2005 film, which starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a “couple in a stagnating marriage, live a deceptively mundane existence. However, each has been hiding a secret from the other: they are assassins working for adversarial agencies. When they are both assigned to kill the same target the truth comes to the surface. Finally free from their cover stories, they discover that they have been assigned to kill each other, sparking a series of explosive attacks.”

Reacher Season 2 premieres in December, and it comes from writer and showrunner Nick Santora, and it’s based on the novels by Lee Child. The series follows Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator who has just recently entered civilian life and he finds himself getting involved in some crazy situations some of which get violent.

The second season is based on the 11th book in Lee Child’s bestselling series, Bad Luck and Trouble, begins “when the members of Reacher’s old military unit start turning up dead. Reacher has just one thing on his mind—revenge.”

Gen V is coming in September and the project is inspired by the G-Men, which is a parody of the X-Men in The Boys comic book series. “Set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”

Other projects teased include Good Omens Season 2 and The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2, both of which premiere in July, A Million Miles Away coming in September, The Wheel of Time Season 2, which premieres in September, The Burial coming in October, Cassandro coming in September, and Candy Cane Lane coming in December.
