Production on INVINCIBLE Season 2 Continues as Steven Yeun Gets Back in The Recording Booth

Steven Yeun is jumping back in the recording booth to start his work on the highly-anticipated second season of Robert Kirkman’s animated series Invincible. Yeun plays the main character Mark Grayson, and fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the series.

A few months ago, Yeun offered an update on the show, saying that it’s going to be a while before we see it return. He said: "We haven't started. I know we're starting at some point soon. I've talked to Robert [Kirkman], here and there. He's super excited about it. He thinks Season 2 is gonna be even better than Season 1, which I have no doubt about. If you go to his source material, Invincible is an incredible comic, and just thinking about how much story hasn't been told from that run, it's gonna be bonkers. I'm really excited about it."

While Yuen is now just getting back in the recording booth, the series has been in development for some time already. Showrunner Simon Racioppa offered an update last month, saying: "We're working hard on it. The one thing I'd tell people is we've been working hard on it for a longer period than they think. A lot of people assume we've just got started on it, and that's not true. We've been working on it for a while now. But, it's a big show. To do it properly takes time. We're still in the pandemic. We're hopefully coming out of it, but that makes things a little slower too. Everybody is working very hard on it; I think you're going to be very happy with it. I hope so. We want to make it as badly as everyone wants to see it. We're deep in. I wish it was already done and I wish it was finished, but it's just not."

Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Yeun), who's just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). The series also stars Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Gillian Jacobs, Zachary Quinto, Jason Mantzoukas, Melise, Mark Hamill, Mahershala Ali, Seth Rogen, and more.

I enjoyed the first season of the series and I’m looking forward to seeing how the story continues for these characters in Season 2! There’s no released date yet, but the series could premiere late 2022 or sometime in 2023.
