Professor X Confirmed To Appear in LEGION Season 3 and Casting Announced
Yesterday it was reported that the FX’s Marvel series Legion would come to an end after Season 3. Today it has been confirmed that Professor X would appear in its final season.
The official Twitter page made the announcement and also revealed that former Game of Thrones actor Harry Lloyd will play Professor X, while Mr. Robot actress Stephanie Corneliussen will also appear as David Haller's mother, Gabrielle.
Professor X has been teased in the series and we knew he would eventually show up. There was a shot of Xavier’s iconic wheelchair in the series, which was the actual wheelchair used in the movies. Legion showrunner Noah Hawley also teased the idea of getting Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy to make an appearance, but obviously that’s isn’t going to happen.
When previously talking about including Professor X in the series, Hawley said:
“I think that’s something we’re definitely going to approach. It’s a creative conversation, but it’s also a sort of corporate conversation, you know, on some level, in terms of the movie studio and their relationship to the X-Men and the characters they want in the movies and want to protect potentially.”
We don’t exactly know how the character will be utilized in the story, but I can’t wait to find out!
